I think you're right it was Trossard's turn, it had the vibe that with Arteta having dropped Martinelli and re-signed Trossard, he now had to bring Leo on, all else being equal.

Still wouldn't be surprised if we sold Martinelli during the week. I don't think it would be bad business. I really like Gabi and have great disdain for those that heavily criticise him, but clubs rarely go back to players they move on from.

Even the people who have issues with him can't deny that fighting desire is Martinelli's most consistent feature. Someone who will put it all on the line again and again regardless of whether he is on form, full of confidence and starting every game or if he is out of form, confidence shot to pieces and just warming the bench.

Martinelli suits a more counter attacking team 9/10 teams sit back against us. If he played for Newcastle, villa or A. Madrid he'd look miles better.

Pepe LeFrits very likely. This was Artetas chance to give out minutes as we were coasting. There is no way those subs are the same if the game is 0-0 or even 1-0 to us. We have this big squad now with so much depth, he has to give them minutes somewhere.

As much as I think his time with us up I think for him it’s best to move on as well. He needs a change of scenery. I would be shocked if he’s still an Arsenal player this time next year. And I don’t think he will play as a starter for us for a few good months.

Sicario2 I noted how awful this moment was in the match thread.

I'm generally an optimist and have wished that Gabimart would turn things around to when he was much more spontaneous. But at this exact moment in that match I thought I'd had enough of that. He had so many damned options too.

If it was me and I was completely dropped for the last game and a 15 year old came on before me, the next game I manage to get a start in im going to play with fire in the belly to prove a point. He didn’t and that’s why he is done out here.

Yep, looks like the enthusiasm and belief he had going forward has evaporated and has been replaced with doubt. Still works hard as ever and had some excellent defensive moments, but that isn't quite enough for a winger.

We don't have the time to play him out of this slump unfortunately.

It’s odd as he appears to have regressed. He used to shimmy and find space for shots quite often. I think injuries may have robbed him of that all important 5% edge physically

I think he’s had the freedom coached out of him, and it’s stunted his development. He’s never downed tools or phones it in, but his time here is done.

MistaT having your head down for 90 percent of attacking moves has nothing to do with coaching. His regression is down to him mainly imo.
