Like I said though, I'm not even angry he took the shot. I want our lads to shoot more after all.
That's the thing. We say want our players to be braver on the ball and make things happen rather than being passive and delegating responsibility by just passing it to the nearest body even when that pass is backwards.
It's a criticism we have for many of our players, including Martinelli who people say dribbles upfield and end up passing it back more often than not. But when they take opportunistic shots we blame them for being greedy? I wish more of our players were greedy for goals at times in and around the box.
(By the way I don't know the shot you're talking about but if it's the one where he cut in and forced a save then I can't blame him)
