Out of the team that started today, the only guys who hadn’t played under Wenger were Sokratis, Torreira and arguably Auba. Rest have all been involved with Wenger especially in his latter years when Europa league qualification became normal at Arsenal.

They don’t run the club though, that’s the point. There’s no such thing as a billionaire who knows how to run a football club, or cares deeply about a football club, or have a burning desire to win. They just hire people who do and/or throw enough money at it.

Better / engaged ownership wouldn't have allowed him total control post Dein, and he should have been sacked for any number of transgressions after the CCup Final loss to Brum.

Yup - the only way we rebuild to replace the departures this season is to sell more of those who aren't already departing. Further to that we won't be looking at replacing/upgrading any position where we will have numbers available as we will need to prioritise where we don't as we look to balance the team. The question is going to be if we manager to raise any additional revenues worth speaking about, or is it simply more the removal of wages and those that are mill stones at the club for whatever reasons.

We didn't spend big though, not relative to our hypothetical rivals. Yeah Mustafi was a big fuck up but its easy to criticise that 3 years later, at the time people thought it was a good signing. Meanwhile City can spend the same on Mangala and not care because they can throw over £100m at Stones and Laporte to fix it. We don't have the luxury of making a big mistake.

We have no money and no status as a top club. We'll end up with more of the same. Journeymen who end up here because they have nowhere better to go as someone (I think Klaus?) put it in the match thread.

I know all fans claim their wow but Arsenal have to be the worst run club of the big English clubs and maybe that's the problem now entertaining the idea we are in that bracket. We don't invest, at have cowardly downward looking outlook and this culture of fear and lack of ambition permeates from the board to the squad. We also are the biggest bottlers of the"big"clubs blowing more often then not chances we've had to achieve success.

It's difficult to see a path forward for us as it so require at least 2-3 seasons in my view and that would need sustained recruitment. But there is no sign that we ate going to learn the lesson from Tottenham and Liverpool of how to build towards real progress.

Absolutely. A major european final for the first time in 13 years and he didn't even bother turning up. He needs to die off our club asap

People who say winning the cup would've papered over cracks don't realize that the cup gives us $$$ and prestige through cl. The prestige part means nothing because we're not paying enough for anyone big enough that wants cl, that's the damn reality.

The extra, what, 60 million? That's the difference between mustafi starting for us or someone else, or micky starting or or or. Now we're stuck with this shit group of players with probably a few more years of shit, instead of inching closer. It doesn't help that kronke is a cheap fuckface too.

I'm angry because the change I was looking for is probably gonna be delayed for another two years at least.
