We're getting £55m for Xhaka though so it can't be all bad.

Not sure why you guys are getting so mad about an incredibly vague report about what we'd supposedly want for Chambers. He's a young English player who's actually proven at PL level and recently voted Fulham's player of the season. We should be looking for around £18m+ for him, otherwise we're better off keeping him as a utility player who can play in 3 positions to a decent level if need be.

That’s my feeling as well.
He can be the Milner of Arsenal. We will need players like that who, as you say, can reliably fill 2-3 positions and give you predictable output. If we don’t get a great price now let’s deploy him that way this season. He will give us more than a Willock or Bielik would.

AMN is possibly another who should be prepared to be that guy. I can’t presently see him being a great fullback or central midfielder, but he’s a decent all round player.

Liverpool paid £30m for Lovren. Whilst I'm no fan of his, the guy has played in a Champions League final and  world Cup final in the past 12 months. Chambers has done nothing of note in his career.

Yeah but Lovern is 29 and Chambers is 24.

West Ham have signed Pablo Fornals, good signing for them.

We rejected 24m for Chambers just 3 windows ago. No way we should be accepting anything lesser than that

Yup, and jump ahead of us to join the elite levels of Leicester, Wolves and Everton.

It's kinda maddening that they're making signings like Fornals and Felipe Anderson who'd walk straight into our team.

There's a lot of players that would walk into our team, Wenger and Gazidis left the squad in a mess that will take years to fix on a shoestring budget.

marca: Real Madrid signed Takefusa Kubo for free. According to MARCA, Real figured out that Kubo's contract ended on June 1st, whilst Barca and other rivals thought it ends on 2020

This can't be real? How stupid are these people that run football clubs?

[Di Marzio] Napoli are close to agreeing a €50m transfer fee, including bonuses, for PSV Eindhoven forward Hirving Lozano. The player has agreed to join the club but his image rights are the current problem

Mauro Icardi has reportedly received an offer from Inter Miami. Beckham has contacted the Argentine striker who is not having a good time at Inter Milan.

[Kristof Terreur] Man United have been in touch over Youri Tielemans again. Leicester are hoping to get a deal done, but Solskjaer likes the Belgian international. United are keeping close attention - talks with his agents. Tielemans wont return to Monaco. Spurs have other priorities.

Barça have contacted Borussia Dortmund to sign the Portuguese LB, Guerreiro. He has only 1 year left on his contract, and would cost maximum 25m. The idea is to compete with Alba. Barca see it as easier transfer than Betis' LB Junior. [Albert Roge]

So no Kola? Come on Barca buy the tank from us.

Bild plus: Borussia Dortmund want to buy Mats Hummels!

Mauricio Pochettino is currently in Barcelona waiting to see whether #thfc chairman Daniel Levy can deliver his transfer targets, who include Tanguy Ndombele, Donny van de Beek, Ryan Sessegnon and Nicolò Zaniolo

[Kristof Terreur] Crystal Palace have held exploratory talks over Belgian international Timothy Castagne. He’s one of the main candidates if Aaron Wan Bissaka moves to Man United. Castagne is currently undecided over his future: CL with Atalanta, the PL or being a back-up at Napoli

[COPE] : The transfer of Marcos Llorente to Atlético Madrid could be closed in coming days. Gil Marin and Jose Angel Sanchez laid the groundwork for agreement 10 days ago. Atlético will pay €40 M for the transfer and Llorente will sign a contract for 5 years.

Di Marzio: Napoli is targeting Manolas to replace Albiol – the player has a 36M clause and Napoli are trying to offer Diawara as part of the deal, but Roma asked for Mertens instead

h25deportes(spanish radio station)Mario Hermoso (linked with Arsenal early on) will join Atletico Madrid. They will pay his release clause of €40m.

Gil Marin as retarded as ever. 80m for Hermoso and Llorente, both are talented but could probably be bought for half that

So many dumb transfers in the making there

Dortmund paying Bayern to take Hummels off them
Roma rejecting Diawara
Barcelona thinking Guerrero is a LB
Inter Miami 😆
That Japanese kid
And worst of all Castagne who looks to trade in a historic achievement and CL with Atalanta to move to relegation battlers Palace. Worse than Carrasco Witsel etc moves to China

It's unlikely but I do worry if we waste another couple transfer windows and with our ageing squad. The teams ahead of us are getting better and those behind us are improving at an alarming rate. West Ham & Everton doing good business and then if Newcastle get sold to some Arabs they'll spend big as well.

West Ham finished 10th and Everton 8th. They're not exactly breathing down our necks.

Surely not Amadou Diawara? Are they completely insane?

That one Klaus yes. Good thing they got rid of Monchi who was clearly the reason for their current malaise

😆 😆

Nothing quite like a dose of reality.

I think the bigger issue is that these clubs are improving enough to consistently take points off us. Makes it all the more remarkable that Pool and City won so many games or perhaps everyone suddenly starts to appear good the further down you fall.

Wish we had appointed Pellegrini and his DOF instead. So many smart transfer for a club like WHU there.

That Jap kid is the real deal, I can't believe Barca let him leave
