Team was gone. As @Don Pacifico says, some shit was beyond his control, but last season and this season are lost. Fucking Liverpool look like they could give us a go right now.
Don Pacifico he doesn't have the goodwill for it to take several seasons of "guininely disappointing results" before you do something about it. Letting a manager go early in the season is rarely the ideal time to do it - it's either later or earlier. I doubt anyone (well, except those who didn't fire him) thinks he should've stayed on for longer.
Don Pacifico Felt like the ACL injuries actually masked his deficiency. He could have been exposed as a fraud very early on in the 1st season.
Terrible manager, surely one of the worst to ever manage our womens team given the disposal he had on hand and he let Miedema go too.

Pure speculation on my part of course but I do think the team were very upset about this decision and it has affected them not wanting to play for him anymore. They were all obviously going to side with their teammate who had been there longer than him 
She was on the verge of tears when she got ovation at the Emirates on return too. And could see how fond all her teammates were of her at the end of that game.

As I said, these things don't occur in a vacuum.
QuincyAbeyie I disagree. You need to give things time (ie. collect more data) before you make these decisions. I don't think a single season gives the evidence needed to come to that conclusion.
If you look at the men's team, I'm certainly glad that the club didn't react as quickly as fans wanted when it came to Arteta's rough patch.

I think one season taken in isolation is typically not long enough to make a call on whether a manager should be sacked. Having had an additional summer where big decisions were made and the manager was backed, there have been some very negative indicators which further undermine his position. If the club were to have sacked him, I'd understand it without necessarily aggravating for it myself but he's made the decision for them.

The new caretaker coach is absolutely fantastic. The results under her is night and day from that fraud.
Wasted so much time and talent under him.
The style of play is also very attractive
yeah just give her the reins till end of season.
