Celtics wasn't a preferred destination for Kyrie as well but he went there. Father Davis should look at his own son first.

Davis has this and next season left on his contract. It makes little sense IMO for the Pelicans to do anything until the summer, when Boston can come in with an offer. Boston by far is in the best position to put a great offer on the table for the Pelicans with their young talents and gazillion draft picks.
The way I see it if I'm the Pelicans, is the only reason I would even listen to offers now is if AD behind closed doors has told them he doesn't want to go to Boston.

Pels don’t care what AD wants to do. Why should they?

my lakers hate has been fully rekindled. they feel they are owed everything and teams should bend over for them because they are the lakers. i hope demps tells them to get bent and waits to move AD till the summer.

They wanted an insane package for AD. They wanted 4 first round picks (I even heard they wanted 6-8 picks) plus literally all of the Lakers' young core. Most people thought what Magic offered was insane (nearly all of the young players + 2 first round picks + even taking back one of their terrible contracts in Solomon Hill). I guess they think Jayson Tatum is the next god of basketball.

It's already over, Lakers pulled out of the trade negotiations.

Ironically enough, the Sixers' trade for Tobias Harris has implications over Boston's trade assets and the competition in the East. They are unlikely to get to get the Clippers' lottery protected first rounder and the Kings' first rounder may be devalued as they will beat the Clippers in the Western conference and they have a better chance of making the playoffs.

The Lakers locker room is in tatters now. This whole saga has destabilized them badly, and all for naught. It was a bad move by Magic courting AD so publicly. I heard Indy fans were chanting at Ingram last night: “Lebron will trade you!!” Lol

gave up a lot to get harris, but holy shit our starting 5

simmons - redick - butler - harris - jojo

redick is the only weak defender in that group. our bench is still a dumpster fire, but come playoffs, the starters will be playing 38 minutes a game anyway, except redick. id imagine that boban will play backup C against more traditional bigs, bolden against more athletic bigs. scott is a 3/d power forward i guess, hes probably not much worse than chandler was. it hurts to lose shamet. we must be banking on wes matthews getting a buyout from the knicks, he'd be a perfect short term fit for the rest of the year.

woj says our intention is to keep both butler and harris this summer, which basically maxes us out completely. which is fine by me. much easier to find bench/rotation pieces in the summer on min deals than it is in-season.

after last night's crushing loss to the raps, this certainly lifts the spirits.

Yeah, Mcgee got "not worth trading" chants 😆

The road to the playoffs is getting easier w/ the Clippers going tank mode after trading Tobias Harris. Thanks MD!

How you gon trade zubac?! What is this game man that lebron is toxic I tell you.

the markelle fultz era has mercifully ended. thank fucking god. we got trash back for him, but so be it.

Yeah, it was such a weird trade, giving up Zu, for Mike Muscala of all people. But he's a free agent after this year.

I guess we'll how this team fares after the deadline now. I like the Reggie Bullock addition.

savage 😆

LBJ really drumming up the recruitment game by getting all the FA's on his team lmao (KD, Kyrie, Kawhi, Klay, and...AD)

So he got kyrie before kawhi. ..hmmmm.

They chanting again in Boston lol, gonna be a long season for Lakers kids lol

RAJON FUCKING RONDO!!!!!

Russell Westbrook yesterday tied Wilt Chamberlain’s 9 triple double streak in a come from behind win against the Houston Rockets. It was a 26point deficit.

This is a remarkable achievement for a 6’3” guard. Hope he goes on to break the record on Monday against the Trailblazers. He’s a special player.

Thunder Up!

Think Westbrook is not given the recognition he deserves because of his shooting woes. Too much is made of shooting in this day and age. Fucking hell! The man is averaging a triple double for the third straight season!

It's more then just that he is shooting bricks. It's the huge amount of shots he takes (from 3 for example, where he has a terrible percentage). I still think it's impressive, very impressive but at the same time he is stat padding(it's that how you say it ?). Poor Adams would be leading the league in rebounds if he would not have to leave them for Westbeast.

Your post is sort of the point I'm making...

Nothing seems to matter in Oklahoma city except for his triple doubles. I don't know how much he cared for his twins being born either 😛

lakers tampering with ben simmons now.

the league really needs to step in and start taking away draft picks. fining these cunts $50,000 has no impact at all. the lakers do not have a god given right to collect every superstar in the NBA. adam silver, that fucking snake, didnt hesitate to get hinkie fired and have the colangelos installed in philly, but hes happy to allow the lakers to unsettle and tamper with any other team they want. fucking horseshit.

you talk like this isn't the same league that stopped the lakers from picking up Chris Paul not long ago.

thats not relevant in this situation. that happened 7 years ago, and the league vetoed that trade because they owned the hornets at the time. of course this was also pre-magic johnson joining the lakers. this bullshit started as soon as he came back to the team as the president/adviser.

The Lakers have responded back:

I think this is being a bit overblown. I don't like how Magic makes nearly everything public, but it's starting to look like Ben wanted to work with Magic and he initiated the contact first.

Ben Simmons reaching out to the Lakers to speak with Magic Johnson about his Hall of Fame career.
Pull the other one.
I bet he already knows more about Magic than Magic remembers about himself.
He wanted to speak with Magic.
Full stop.

10 straight triple dubs. Westbrook.

No love for Paul George?

He put up 47/12/10!!!

I’ve been supporting OKC since the days of Harden KD & Westbrook. I know what we went through when Harden left and became a superstar in his own right. I know how things felt after KD left to the team we nearly beat and basically lost when KD missed what would have been a game winning shot. I heard all the criticism Westbrook got - he is too selfish, no one wants to play with him, he can’t lead the team. It was obvious to me that this young man had a competitive fire like none other before him, and just needed to be helped to channel it properly. I watched him singlehandedly will this team into the playoffs two seasons ago with no help whatsoever and win an MVP becoming the first player since Oscar to average the triple double throughout the season. Then I watched him do it again, and turn the triple double stat line into a “normal” thing. Despite a career threatening knee injury (Patrick Beverly, I haven’t forgiven you), and multiple knee surgeries. Westbrook is the heart and soul of OKC, and has always been. PG13 is nice, absolutely special player and those numbers, while sparkling have been put up before and will be put up again most likely.

But yesterday was for history. Took the record off Wilt Chamberlain. Yesterday was Westbrook’s day.

Yeah, Westbrook is a beast for sure. I do wonder how long his career will last though. He turns 31 later this year, and I've rarely seen a player whose game is so highly based on his physical ability. When physical decline hits Westbrook I reckon he is pretty much done as a player.

mr. steal your rebound's effective field goal percentage is 44. damn that's awful. now paul george is the man.

Funnily enough, was talking about this with a mate earlier, that he will deteriorate much faster than guys like Lebron. incredible athlete though. 3 years of triple doubling it when it wasn't even a consideration for half a century is remarkable.

It's an amazing sport IMO. At the moment I enjoy basketball a lot more than football. Beal just got away with something because the refs failed to blow the whistle. Let's not pretend that doesn't happen in every sport.

Yes, but you have to hold your hand up sometimes and say we got it wrong. Instead they Donald Trumped on the call.

Same.

How can you have a dunk contest without di Boban? nonsense.

Just heard on TNT-- Shaq calling himself black steph curry in jest...it never struck me before until kenny corrected him--black steph curry? steph curry IS black. lol.

The black Steph Curry was terrible today with 2 chainz 😆 😆  even with cheating.

Pretty embarrassing dunk contest today. Can't believe missed dunk got 35 points, that was ridiculous.

Only 1 good dunk from Diallo (the one over Shaq); congrats flobs.

I guess next year will be more hyped with Zion. Hope Terrance Ferguson competes as well.
