Lebron and Anthony Davis with a few decent players (Harrison Barnes, Seth Curry level) will be favorites in my opinion.
i guess i just dont see it, tbh.
right now, the lakers have 3 NBA players on their roster and zero draft capital. lebron is probably the 2nd best player ever, but hes at the end of his peak, and last season he suffered a major injury for the first time. his minutes played over the last 10-12 years are absolutely insane. i dont think you can just pencil him in for 75 games next season. even if he stays healthy, they will need to rest him a decent amount to keep him fresh and healthy. davis has had injury issues for most of his career and he quit on his team last year. kouzma is an inefficient wing without a ton of upside.
im sure its partly my lakers hatred, but i dont see how they can build an effective roster this summer. they have like $25m under the cap, plus the MLE, and then the rest is vet minimums. even if they hit a bullseye with their MLE and split it between 2 great role players, they need to find 2-3 starters for $25m total. its really hard to do, especially given that their GM has no track record of successful team building and spotting value. this is the same guy who traded a young C with starter upside for freaking mike muscala a few months ago
