The logic of "preemption" based on the interpolation of intent is deeply problematic. The "right to protect" doctrine was used by Bush to justify the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
I remember when Ahmadinejad was Iranian President twenty years ago, and it was widely reported he'd declared in a speech "Israel must be wiped off the map". But haven't Smotrich and Ben Gvir among others repeatedly said as much about Palestine? "Thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven."
Israel is no less swayed by its own deranged ideology of manifest destiny than any regime subject to the usual western clichés of "Islamism."
Leave aside the shell game of ideology, value judgements, ignorant claims drawn from comparative religion and so on, and it's a simple point about moral consequences. The Israeli state is the actor commanding and achieving the daily ongoing massacre of innocent civilians, war crimes at a vast scale. Categories of terrorist, genocidaire, ethnonationalist, fascist, human rights violator and so forth are evacuated of empirical value if they are not applied first to the Israeli state.
