Once you take away all the bs what it boils down to is that there are bigots out there and we have to be mindful of their sensibilities.
Nah its a lot worse than that. They're essentially saying the bigots are right otherwise they wouldn't be peddling this neutrality horseshit angle. How do you look at this debate which is about the hijab and the hijab only, and end up writing an essay stating that commerce has to be facilitated above all else, and that banning Muslim women from jobs that aren't the fucking cleaner lady is neutral grounds and a legitimate possible wish of a customer?
Not that it changes anything mind. German courts who brought this to the ECJ have long ruled against allowing women with a hijab to work in higher positions in law, for midtier jobs like teachers there are court decisions wavering in either direction without saying anything seemingly every year. This decision is just more of the same and they're explicitly stating that national courts are free to basically ignore or soften the precedent if they see fit, the really fucked up thing is the disgusting and racist rhetoric of neutrality which no one even seemed to have noticed while writing
