It's not exactly a stretch to feel they share the blame when the Trump administration have escalated the situation to this by repeatedly violating Iranian air space with drones and planes for years and then went on to assassinate the head of the Iranian military. That's not even mentioning how they've imposed crippling sanctions on them and tore up the nuclear deal, or how John Bolton's sole purpose in life seemed to be to conquer what he saw as an inherently evil country. American politics have been aggressively anti-muslim and anti-Iranian in their sentiment over the last few years. They've repeatedly made threats of a new invasion in the middle east. It's dangerous and irresponsible. Tragedies like this is in line with what would be expected from a higher threat level and an increased state of readiness.
They shot a civilian plane down because of their own incompetence not due to increased levels of readiness. There was a complete lack of communication and protocol which led to this disaster. Surely it is common sense to ground all aeroplanes if you decide to fire Missiles into Iraq? They didn't have to fire those Missiles, they chose to fire them into Iraq. So if they have made that decision then prepare for it properly. As for violating airspace then we can point to instances where the Iranians have got involved in that region as well, just in recent times they seized an Oil tanker a few months ago and then the missiles which were fired into Saudi Arabia. That is ignoring their sponsorship of terrorist militia groups in that region.
I don't like Trump and have serious reservations about the true motives behind taking out Qaseem Solemani but it has become fashionable to just blame him for everything. I've found it disturbing how some seemed to have got behind the Iranian regime over this, this was not a good man and this regime is fucking brutal. Just look at what is happening to those who are protesting now and those who protested a few weeks back. You can blame Trump for a lot of things incl escalating tensions there or the way they pulled out of the Nuclear deal but it isn't his fault that plane got shot down or that funeral got out of hand.
Politics in general has become very divisive and both sides are pushing views which imo are not acceptable. Though it should be pointed out that many Muslim countries have very good relations with America. John Bolton isn't in the administration any more and he's had a big falling out with Trump so doubt Trump would be doing this to appease him. I'm not quite sure yet what Trumps motives are behind this. Whether the attack on the embassy was one thing too far for them to tolerate or whether his impeachment coming up he needs to get the war hawks on board? Attacking the embassy and spray painteing Qaseem Solemani wasn’t going to go without retaliation, killing the bloke probably wouldn’t be what I had in mind though!
