I'm really impressed with him so far. I also love his energy. Watching yesterday I couldn't help imagining Wenger sitting on the bench huddled up in his puffy jacket hiding from the November cold.

Wenger was awful in the past few seasons. Bare minimum you want from a manger is to get a shift from each player

We were talking about differences since Emery has taken over the other day, well some our passing out of the back, against supposedly one of the best pressing sides, was excellent yesterday. It made such a huge difference in terms of keeping the game under our control. Leno was brilliant on the ball.

That's possibly one of the biggest surprises this season. Leno was definitely not this good on the ball in the past in fact he was spoken of as an anachronism among goalies especially compared to his long time rival ter Stegen. Very impressed that he seems to have added so much to his locker in such a short time

I think Holding makes a massive difference in this regard too. Bloke's calm and composed on the ball like no one we have aside from Kos. Over the last few games we've seen how it allows Mustafi to push up higher.

People used to say goalkicks are overrated but Ederson and Allison really changed the perception and concept of how it works. Leno is not brilliant at that but he is capable and it already adds so much to our build up.

One thing I was really really happy to see yesterday was that firstly our pressing forced Liverpool into alot of giveaways. Secondly, we are finally able to beat the press, something Wenger has never ever managed to make us comfortable at in his entire reign. Every time we faced a good pressing team in the past, even for example Wigan under Martinez our performance dips massively. Kudos to Emery.

I think it's great that we hired a manager who, like Wenger, always wears a suit on the sideline. Klopp and Sarri look like hobos next to Emery with their embarrassing tracksuits. Or maybe it's an Arsenal thing rather than a manager thing. Nevertheless, good on us.

And it’s refreshing to watch the players enjoying, enjoying the game.
They are having fun, Steve Bould is laughing!
The indivual improvements are wonderful, from Laca to Leno, and even more exciting is the team effort, spirit.

Holding is also doing it on the wrong side of the defence in terms of his strong foot. Think he'd be more assured on the ball if he was moved to the right.

I kept saying it about Leno in his first few appearances. He clearly is very comfortable and skilled with the ball at his feet and he gets very good distance with both feet, even without the chance to have much back lift or from awkward positions.

Off topic a little but I'm really impressed by Leno's positioning and closing down shot angles. He does that effortlessly.

He's a bit erratic in the air but that applies for most keepers so it doesn't really bother me.

The fact that we can now confidently pass it round the back to front and back again, against Liverpool, with Mustafi as a CB, and Xhaka as DLP, means we've fucking put a lot of work into this stuff.

To the point that IMO it's a huge kudo to Emery and the team that LFC were forced to change their shape a number of times to try to combat our control.

I agree. Our guys always look the part compared with the hobos.

Just wish Emery would fix his teeth. Maybe he needs a bigger salary.

If that's true is it possible his poor season prior was due to him adapting to the approach? Because when he came to us it was already with the reputation for ball-playing.

Agreed, though I'm still gonna hold off on thinking we've got everything sorted until we see much more consistency. The poor show with Crystal Palace away was only the previous week.

I don't think so. He never had a reputation for being a playing keeper, where do you have that from?
