1) Why are we a one half team thus far ?
2) Is Emery going to risk our players of burn out by playing strong teams in the Carabo Cup and Europa League?
Regarding #1:
We've seen noticeable changes/subs to address our flaws if our first half hasn't gone well (the most obvious being Torriera for Doozi). But I also think some of our tactics are "obvious" in that the overload out wide is a pretty clear play/intention. Teams start to adapt to that and it quickly disappears.
As for #2, we've played one game in each tournament so far, we're not anywhere near burn out with Monreal being the only exception.
IMO we are still not executing properly.

if we look at this for Welbeck's 2nd today it's essentially a counter via flank through the centre 3rd rather than trying to play through the middle = it's the planA style as opposed to developing towards a numerical advantage down one side before switching to the other as per planB.
If we need to play a slower tempo and development then we need to get wide to stretch the defence and make them come to the ball, and then we swap flanks to spring the trap. If they don't come across we're not giving them cause to do so as we're either not wide enough and/or we're not following through to use the overload to create a threat on goal.
