Meatwad is right. The rule change is only for the attacking team: if you score with your hand it's automatically disallowed, not the other way around.
Appears you're right, I thought the same as you guys initially and then read something else which was bogus apparently. In that case this is not a bullshit rule being correctly applied but an asshole ref not applying the rules. How do you look at that replay 20 times and end up with a pen.
VAR isn't fixing anything, new rules aren't either. If a monkey works with a stick and you improve his tool you still expect a fucking monkey to do a job for you. Refs like this need to be weeded out
