Why is it so bad? My neighbour reckons he makes £30-40 a night for 3-4 hours work. Not amazing but for a student or someone looking for some extra income it's not bad. The Mrs' uncle also reckons signing up to Delivery/UberEats saved his takeaway business.

There's also an argument that the gig economy saved widespread unemployment in the UK from being the norm following the financial crisis.

Of course, there's also the counter argument that now the system has been totally abused and is practically reliant on those workers who are not afforded any real protection.

Not really, in my country they mark up the prices by 20% and you still have to pay delivery fee.

I noticed the same in South Africa. The restaurants make typically mark-up about the same. Then Uber charges a delivery fee, and you decide your tip.

Özil can cozy up to Erdogan, but us regular folks can't even order some food without being sent straight to hell.

If I go to some fast food place they don't even have the tipping option on their card machine. Why don't grocery store workers deserve tips, do they have a better salary?

Lost amidst Women’s World Cup, Copa America, and u20 World Cup is that Euro u21 Championship started yesterday. Lots of exciting players and/or relevant for summer transfers including: Barella, Zaniolo, Tonali, Kean (Ita), Andersen (Den), Oyarzabal, Ceballos (Esp) Jovic (Ser), Sessegnon, Obi Wan Kenobi, and Nelson (Eng). Then there’s the French squad:

I’m really surprised at how quickly we give up on players at low valuation. You immediately notice that a quarter of the England squad is still affiliated to Chelsea. These are the guys who haven’t graduated like Hudson-Odoi

Wow Totti finally leaves Roma after 30 years, but not before tearing the clubs hierachy to shreds. The fans will definitely be on their backs now.

Watching Roma unravel is kinda liberating in all honesty. It makes you feel infinitely better about the turmoil at Arsenal. Just imagine if we'd been run the way they are. Totti and De Rossi are leaving after being frozen out. Di Francesco sacked. Monchi gone. The bloke who replaced Monchi is gone too. Manolas, their only consistently good player over the last three years, is being shopped around to their direct rivals. Their American owner, who doesn't speak a word Italian and lives in Boston, pens a condescending letter to the fans where he talks about the importance of real Italian values. They're in the risk zone of failing FFP, have no Champions League money, and they're building an expensive new stadium which won't be finished until 20/21 with all the delays and increasing costs.

We should just take the opportunity and put in a shithouse bid for Zaniolo and Ünder. Offer Roma £50 million for both of them. Who knows what that circus will do if there's cash on the negotiating table.

Agree that given the absolute chaos there, who knows what braindead decisions they would make. (knowing us, we'd probably take Nzonzi though :lol🙂. But this has to be the time to test them for Zaniolo and Under. Throw in 50m for both of them and then say sorry and ramp up to 30-35 for just one of them, and disappear into the dark. That kind of money will come in very handy. Even better give them some players on loan to ease the financial pain - e.g., a Willock or a Saka.

I just watched the Totti interview and it's marvelous entertainment. Some highlights:

The Ajax player Totti advised Roma to sign was Ziyech, but they told him to fuck off and despite his objections went for Javier Pastore instead who started seven games and was awful in all of them. 😆
