I'd love to get Tielemans this summer for somewhere in that range - 35-40M. I know I have been wishlisting him forever and his career graph hasn't quite taken off like it seemed it would inevitably do, but I still think he'd be a great addition to our MF. Xhaka out, Tielemans in would be almost neutral to the budget (maybe 5M net spend) and a huge boost to the team in my mind.

I saw. But it’s important to note they despite people constantly saying we are the X richest club, we don’t feature where it really matters: player spend. We only popped up for a brief moment when Premier League money exploded and Italians Tycoons were mixed up scandals. Apart from that, we aren’t a factor, and so people shouldn’t be surprised by our lack of long term competitiveness domestically and abroad

I remember they spent quite a lot on incoming and very few outgoings. Those were the years they really came up fast and closer to us. The VDV, Modric, Palvyuchenko, Corluka, Keane etc. Some big misses but ultimately they just need to get a few right. And when Redknapp is the manager you know the club will spent indiscriminately.

Yeah, seeing Spurs there is no surprise. They spent a lot more money than us earlier in the decade and even the end of the last decade but spent it poorly. Liverpool the same. Easy to forget, clouded by the current positions of both clubs.

Quality player. Probably just lost all passion for the game after his injuries. He’s retired now I believe.

I'm not even going to watch it; I already know it's the Jenkinson fuckup where he runs 30 meters toward our own goal with the ball because his weak foot is so bad that he doesn't want to risk a backpass to the keeper, and then he gets dispossessed.

Retired two years ago at the age of 31. His ankle was in such a bad state after all the surgeries that he risked being permanently handicapped if he continued with football apparently. Poor bloke. He could have had a big career after his Swansea breakthrough.

What a delivery by KDB for Baby Jesus to get the header in the first couple of minutes against Brighton. Tie is probably effectively over. That’s one of the finest passes I’ve seen this season.
It is crazy to think about, but City could have 3 of the top 4 players in the league season in Sterling, Silva and KDB. The last has been the quietest due to injury but, my, he has been quality when he has been called on.
