I think we have our young player done as well. Not a CB, not a winger...

SKY SOURCES: Arsenal in talks to sign Lorient midfielder Matteo Guendouzi. #SSN

RMC now also reporting that Matteo Guendouzi will join Arsenal from Lorient at the beginning of the week.

The kid is 19, is now playing in Ligue 2 but he made his debut in Ligue 1. He is 6ft1 and can play as a box to box or a deep lying playmaker. Also, he looks like Side Show Bob.

Completely fine with signings like this. €8m is peanuts for talented youngster on todays market. Lets hope Sven had his eye on a potential diamond.

For 8m he must be pretty highly rated.

Yeah, i also liked what i saw. Seems like a big lad, which is nice.

Looks better than Adli

Means Elneny is offski.

Elneny just signed a new deal and we only have 6 centre mids

His touch looks loose, passing off and doesn’t appear to work the angles well.

I tried to tube him but gave up watching after the 7th replay of a headed goal. If anyone has a good comp, pls link

Wenger the clown gave him that new deal. Highly likely that Emery doesn't rate him.

He signed a new deal towards the end of March, highly likely that it was Sven and his team that deemed him worthy of a new contract otherwise they'd have delayed a decision until the summer.

Also I think you're projecting. I'd actually wager that Emery would like Elneny given how much ground he covers and how comfortably he is on the ball.

i dont have an issue with 'neny as a sqaddie. he's better than, say, Denilson was.

If someone can teach him to tackle, he may actually be useful.

Not actually the most reassuring read, sounds a bit flaky on and off the pitch.

Despite not having the dribbling acumen of Rabiot, Guendouzi has shown flashes of realizing how to use his frame when in possession. Not particularly quick, he instead relies on a wiry strength to retain possession, using his long limbs to shield against opponents. That said, this same lanky aspect of his build can make him a bit lazy or prone to fouling when defending, as he is wont to leave a foot in or be somewhat lazy with his positioning in hoping to rely on his size, exemplified by a horror challenge against Auxerre last season. Too, while his inventiveness in terms of a range of passing is impressive, he can also be overly ambitious or seem to lack much in the way of a rapport with his teammates.

Yeah agrees with my thorough in depth scouting review which I did in 30 seconds

so, he's one we're taking a punt on.. obviously has some skill and is a tall lad.. hopefully he can make something of himself.. if not, we didn't waste a ton of money on him

Yes that’s the very satchel the lad posted a picture of in a cryptic tweet the other day

Welcome. I hope you realise your potential here
