Tbh this won't be all bad if they go for Poch and weaken Spurs.

On one hand I think I've just earned a few hundred quid on a sacking bet...But United might hire someone capable now. Feeling very conflicted here.

Would love to see Poch to go to Y***ted and fail miserably. Hate the way the entire English media fawns over him and makes him out to be God. Better still, he can go take over some 2nd tier Spanish club and stay out of our faces altogether. Him and Klopp are the 2 managers (after Mourinho) that I can barely tolerate. Even the bald Spanish fraud is a level better.

They’re both good managers.
The best outcome is for Real Madrid to keep messing around and to get Poch. I don’t want Poch to do for United what he has done for Spurs. With United money he could do damage.

I'm happy to see Mourinho humbled, and whilst his performance has been dreadful, I do think the United board have disgraced themselves not backing him fully in the transfer market in the past couple of Windows.

Don't want them getting someone good now, but with their money, and if the will is there, they could sign some very good players to give to the new manager.

If they have a modicum of common sense they'll go for someone like Jardim and back him to make youngish purchases in the summer. Get the foundation right for once.

Another option is to play to their strengths and hire Tony Pulis. Lukaku, Fellaini, Matic, Rojo... He couldn't have assembled a better squad if he'd tried.

As Ricky pointed out they would have never allowed him to spend anyway.

Little bit disappointed. There was lot more room for humiliation. They could have courted other managers behind his back etc etc.

Problem for them is that they have wasted another couple of years on Mourinho. So they will feel they have even less time to spend going back to square one to let a manager build his own team in a considered, systematic fashion. The longer the drought, the greater the pressure, the less patience people will have for the right decisions

You know who'd be a great manager for Lukaku and Fellaini, David Moyes.

I hope they go for Poch though. Poch and Kane to United in the summer.

Poch has gone 4 seasons without a trophy at Spurs, and his entire career without one. Given the abuse Wenger got each year without winning anything, if he goes trophyless again this season then it's time for questions to be asked isn't it? Same goes for Klopp too surely.

So if City continue like last year, does that mean there can only be one good manager in the league since the others aren't winning?

Solskjær confirmed for United. He's done well with Molde, but that's a giant leap. I think Deila is the better manager of the two and he failed miserably at Celtic. Solskjær is probably a decent man manager to get the players motivated though, and that might be enough for this season.

City didn't win every trophy last season. Just judging by the treatment Wenger got. Didn't say it had to be the league or that they are not good managers, but surely at least a Cup has to be a requirement for them eventually doesn't it? Or is finishing 3rd/4th every season and winning nothing enough indefinitely?
