It’s really infuriating though. It should’ve have bee 1-0 to Fulham fifteen seconds earlier. The Liverpool defender on the near side was playing Mitrovic onside. Very annoying for Fulham and the top four race.

That's what I thought too. I rewatched the goal and still couldn't tell where the linesman found an offside.

On the upside this is the last season of this nonsense.

Very optimistic of you Klaus. I'm watching the use of VAR in Germany and much of its effectiveness still hinges on the people in charge of it. They chime in if they think there's been some bad call or non-call, and in the end the refs in the booth are the exact same blokes who ruin the game on the pitch on other days

Imagine someone like Mike Dean put in charge of deciding whether he should pipe up from outside the game or not

Spain has some spectacularly shit ones like Mallenco, Gil Manzano, Hernandez Hernandez, Lahoz or Villanueva but there are some who go about their business normally. I couldn't name a single referee in England that I would let keep their licence.

Also not sure if that's making it better or worse but in Spain at least the refs usually only fuck up the games involving Madrid or Barcelona, last season especially Tebas seemed intent on keeping the title race as tight as possible. In the Premier League every team gets fucked over, whether it's us playing or like yesterday Southampton vs Watford
