He thought making it public would be counter productive to Liverpool as they would lose the player which they eventually did to Barca. It's true to a certain extent only if we didn't make it such a joke of an offer. Even a simple 41m wouldn't have been seen by the whole world as disrespectful and it was pretty naive of us since we already knew it wasn't a buyout clause.
