I know we're all pretty depressed at everything going on at the club now however come on, get real, that's absurd. Wouldn't have expected such kneejerking from you Ricky.

I said you could objectively (as in: Ask knowledgeable neutrals) make a strong case for those players, not necessarily that I'd take all of them.

My combined XI would look something like:

Have to give credit to City and Guardiola. Another game to go but to follow up a season like last one with another where they could potentially win back to back titles with 98 points while finishing with a 14 match winning streak, and a difficult run in to keep off Liverpool by one point is extremely commendable. They have spent a lot but you can't pay for the nerves, attitude and mentality. Pep has done really well this season, may be better than ever in his career. They could finish with the English treble.

He does this just about every season, Rohit. He is the king of consistency. He gets his teams to always perform at a very high level. It helps to have top tier players plus a very well-drilled playing style on top of his motivational tools

Has he kept off a hot team with potentially 97 points in a 38 game season with a 14 match winning run? They have conceded only 3 in the last 14 games. You need luck too. It's so easy for these players to make a mistake or ease off mentally, lose focus. Had they not won it last season with a points total over 100, I would agree completely with you.

The season we went unbeaten, that game against Liverpool after the dispiriting loss to Chelsea in the CL showed what that team and manager were about.

City's loss to Tottenham at home in the CL which would have been similarly excruciating could have easily derailed them. Oil money or not, this is peak performance.

So these 100 point seasons are a new high but go back and look at all of Pep’s league titles. He’s typically operating at about 90 points and just winning games even when there is no need for his team to keep winning. He’s the benchmark for consistency. It is what we have lacked under Wenger and continue to do as Emery figures out his boys.

Adams’ and Sols’ goals were great, Micky Thomas even better but I’m talking about in the current era and moving forward.

None of our players have the guts and leadership qualities of a Kompany.

Koscielny had a 10/10 game against Chelsea not too long ago. It won't be remembered as fondly because we've been pointless in the league this season, but it was better than Kompany's today in my view. Kos has had a ton of similar performances and defining goals throughout the years too. I think he secured Champions League for us with final day winners two or three years in a row. He's one player we've let down pretty badly by not building better teams.

That Kompany goal has to be goal of the season when you put together the context of it. Absolutely amazing hit
