What you're saying is pretty obvious but i always wondered if you took the budgetary excuses away, what pochs ideal teams would look like. Being a defensive midfield workhorse himself, i wonder f he'd have the bravery/capability to convert spurs personality from physically imposing workhorses to more of an emphasis on creativity. Or if that was potentially a managerial blindspot of his - is prioritising physicality something of a crutch for him?
I wouldnt use the city knockout as an example, as they could've easily gone out there. Also David silva has been awful this year, which combined with de bruynes injuries has contributed to them being less dominant than last season.
Its not impossible to lean towards creative players even on a budget. Wenger did during the early emirates years and achieved broadly what poch has with spurs. We'll see how they fare against ajax who have an even smaller budget than they do
