Interested to see if Emery speaks English and also who Arsenal have there--will it be just Ivan or is Sanllehi going to be front and centre. And of course I'm interested in what they have to say about our targets and goals for next season.

I am excited.

I know Wenger gets slated a lot but we weren't steamrolling teams at home and playing the way we did in the loss to United and draw to City by players just doing what they wanted on the pitch without much done in training. Think that train of thought is rubbish.

What they learnt under Wenger by the freedom to express themselves, combined with Emery's meticulous attention to detail will only make them more complete individuals and hopefully benefit Arsenal immensely.

I think he is as good as Pochettino or Klopp on previous history.

Don’t agree with the choice but he’s our man now and I’m 100% behind him. Hopefully he’s the man to get us back where we need to be.

His more meticulous methods probably the change the club need.

It's because they did it corporate style and the press, ex-players etc. can't get their heads around the fact that we didn't just throw money at the new hotness or hire Sam Allardyce.

Welcome Unai.

I think that this has the potential to be mutually beneficial for both club and manager/head coach.
I suspect that Emery brings to the table much the same in terms of complimentary missing pieces as that seen in AW's impact when he arrived.
If so then I can well see him staying at the club beyond his usual 3 year stint.
I think Emery is an astute choice so as to build upon AW's 'legacy' and to take the club forward in terms of that design intent.

IIRC The Sun story of Emery emerging as top candidate ran over a week ago before Arteta was seen to be the anointed one.
I suspect that Emery was always seen as the leading candidate after his presentation, but nothing could be said until he was released from PSG and the completion of the interview process.
I suspect that nothing had been finalised until after his release from PSG and that Arteta was plan B with a verbal agreement - much as we do with our transfer options.

A lot of the complaints you're getting from pundits sound are so incredibly superficial. You've had both Neville and Wright comment that it's a good/very good appointment but the process was a mess... he was appointed what, 10 days after the end of the season?
