I've never seen him play but I'm thoroughly underwhelmed, going by all of yous' opinions on him. Plus he looks physically like more of the same old shit.

The Dortmund fans rate him for what it's worth, but they complain that he's always injured. He'd have fit right in at Arsenal a few years ago.

I'd be happy with him if it meant we also get a top drawer 22-26 year old to play alongside him. But we won't. He will be the "main" centre back.

Kos is out till the new year and he'll be 33 plus when he comes back
Mustafi is woefully out of form/talent

Given budgetary constraints evans for 3m as a stop-gap seemed a no brainer to me.

I seem to remember that he played fairly well in the world cup in 2014. Looked like a fairly solid, aggressive and well rounded defender.

That's my view on this as well, if we're only signing him then I'd worry but in addition to a good young CB I can live with it.

Arsenal have reached an agreement on a £16 million deal to make Sokratis Papastathopoulos their second summer signing under new manager Unai Emery, but his arrival from Borussia Dortmund will not be officially announced until next month.
