Give us your fucking wages Mesut. Scandalous if he isn't even working hard for full match fitness as has been implied. I've got no patience with it. He's making £15m a year in wages alone!

I don't care how great a player he was, or could be. I don't care if he's not on great terms with the manager. I don't care if he's been put on bin duty as a disciplinary measure. Do your fucking job. Do that much and let the club decide if you're worthy of the shirt.

I wouldn't give a damn either, it's only when a player initiates a "go slow" or goes on strike that these issues of character come into play, and that usually starts—as it has with Ozil—with people wringing their hands and apologising for him and instead laying the blame on the club and its hierarchy.

Unfortunately, the club already made that decision by signing the contract.
Also, the decision not to play is not his but Emery's.
It's not about fitness as he is fitter than Pepe who plays week in week out.
Emery wants him out but cannot unilaterally cancel the contract but Ozil is wise to his scheming so shows up to training which is all that is required to earn his wage.
He is in a similar position to that of Bogarde when Ranieri froze him out at Chelsea as he wanted to save money.

Wise to his scheming, ffs Bold. Why do you insist on Emery having an agenda other than just thinking Özil is shit? Why do you absolutely believe that a manager whose future at Arsenal is far from secure would choose to bench a player even if he thought that said player would improve the team, and by extension help Emery keep his job?

As an Arsenal fan, I hate what he is doing but I'm arguing the case from his point of view.
If I was in his position, I sure as hell wouldn't give up my massive wage to help my employer when I can earn it without working.

I'm asking what you think of Emery's point of view. You seem to believe that Emery has some ulterior motive behind not playing Özil, as if it was just because he simply isn't good enough Özil would have no reason to be mad. You also said that you would find satisfaction in knowing that you staying at Arsenal would limit the club's ability to spend, which would impact not Emery but all your friends at the club. To stay and take your money I would totally understand, but finding satisfaction in what that does to the club is just malicious.

Strange that you say that as you quoted me saying

Emery's point of view is clear and we know it from last year. He is using the same tactic but from a stronger position as Ceballos, Pepe, Willock, Saka and Nelson are far better than Mkhi, Elneny and Iwobi meaning he will never need Ozil. He took advantage of the robbery situation to drop him with a minimum of fuss and I am sure Ozil is never again playing for the first team even if he achieves Sir Mo's level of fitness with Emery hoping that he chooses to leave early in order to play.
Bogarde said he would've accepted going on loan if chelsea paid the difference as nobody was paying his high wages and I would hope Ozil would do the same as his continued presence cannot be positive for either side.

I'm getting some shut-eye as I have be at work by 9:30 at the latest so can only reply at around noon.

What he is doing isn't pragmatic , it's downright disgraceful how we have played this season and it's more glaring when you choose to completely remove your only number 10 from the squad. Not even on the bench. He comes out with this bullshit now that Ozil must do more, yet in early September saying Ozil is training normally. Why doesn't he give him the same amount of games then and let him prove it its not.like Pepe and Ceballos are setting the world alight. All this smoke and mirrors nonsense isn't showing him as a strong manager. It's making him look weak and cowardly just like our football.

I presume you mean his comments about being protagonists and pressing etc?
If so then I agree that he isn't meeting his own objectives.
This then goes double if he used the same objectives as part of his interview presentation, let alone if it was a contributing factor to him getting the job.

Bad take Captain. It's enough to fund two marquee first team players. It's a huge outgoing and we want it to be productive, that's basic stuff.
