He's a decent player. I thought he was frustrating to watch yesterday though. He did a ton of good throughout the game but you have to be sharper than that if you're going to start on a big European night.
The problem with Laca, and the reason he's never going to be a great striker, is that he lacks that first instinct to strike the ball. It's a few tenths of a second and it makes all the difference. It's the difference between having an opening and a leg getting in the way, between the keeper being immobile and moving in the right direction.
He had a lot of nifty one-twos and dribbles in the box yesterday, but several of them were preceded by situations where someone like Aubameyang would have just put the boot through the ball. He did grab a goal eventually but we needed two or three from the chances we created, and in the end I think most people still felt it was a shame that Auba wasn't available for this one. I think the result would have been different if he had been.
