There are about 3 people saying that he sounds good. 😆

Get me 2 or 3 more players like this. This is the stage at which we should’ve snatched Mbappe, who was similarly in demand across Europe. At 17, you never know if a player will turn into Pires or Ben Arfa. But you have to go in before he hits 20 and you know that he’s a sure thing and Barca is pricing you out with £90m bids.

Exactly. Every transfer carries a risk but if even if it takes 10 duds to find the next Mbappe, it's worth it.

For what it's worth, I watched his whole seven minute debut and he plays mostly like Ozil.

He came on at left wing in that game.

Yeah he kind of does. It seemed he has very quick feet (in a stop start sense) but doesn't run around much, especially in the final 3rd where he kind of just walks and waits for the challenge before moving it away. Also at times he seemed very slow and cumbersome in his movement (aside from the quick feet) however seen other parts where he seemed to be running past people with ease. Maybe his top speed is decent but his acceleration I think might be what makes him look slow. Also, although his feigns and and quick changes in directions fooled a lot of those defenders a lot of the defending shown was terrible.

Doubt we brought him here to be an immediate addition to the first team, but he does have something about him. We've neglected buying highly rated youth for a long time, and the more of these kinds of signings we make, the better. Best case is they become legends for the club and stay a long time (or bring us a big fee if they want to leave), worst case we loan them out for a few years and they leave us at a loss of a few million. No big deal, but we really should be focusing on getting our hands on as many of the best young talents we can find.

Wow, so many people watching videos and being hyped up for a 17 year old.

Good steal, stockpile more talents and this is the way to go. Not Mbappe level of talent though this guy IMO.

Kid looks silky and infuriatingly raw at the same time. I like the look of him. 6ft 1 too.

this is what i see too...  clear talent, a decent brain, but also holds on to the ball too long sometimes..  experience and strength will do this kid wonders

Apparently we were trying to sign him before Emery joined. Sven has been on his case since his Dortmund days and has links to the players agent.

Seems to me like the crucial aspect of recruiting top talent isn't having good scouts so much as knowing the right people.

Be nice to sign a player who isn’t either still in school or in their 30s like.

Sven and co must have great hopes for our young players coming through.

He comes on in the 83rd minute - not much to see, but if you have a spare eight minutes, go for it.

Like you said there isn't a whole lot to see, but he seems to have a good frame despite being 17. I reckon it's gonna be a big help in Premier League if we intend to give him playing time early on. You can see how the lack of muscles has held someone like Nelson back this past season and will probably hamper him a bit next one too.

Thomas Eisfield
Fran Merida
Serge Gnabry
Gedion Zelalem
Dan Crowley
Rob Holding & Calum Chambers
Ryo Miyaichi
Jeff and the random guy who came with him

Forgive me if I’m no longer excited by young players Arsenal is linked to.

He's probably ready for some showings against Aston Villa and Partizan Belgrade in the lesser competitions next year.

I could come up with a similar list for any club.

Harsh putting Gnabry on there btw

We also signed Hector, Cesc, Aaaron etc, nothing wrong in hoping he turns into one of them.

Don't worry about Babs, we are signing enough old arse players to appease him.

He's still in Wenger hangover.

Old arse Balotelli linked.

AFTV desperate for traffic.

So this is down to Emery? Let’s sack Sven and Raul and mike Unai our new all powerful overlord!

"The negotiations began well before the arrival of Unai Emery at Arsenal and were led by Sven Mislintat who already wanted to sign Adli during his time with BVB"

this...   and i also wouldn't necessarily include Chambers & Holding on that list.  They have played a number of games for the first team..  Gnabry was one we should have kept TBH..   he has done fairly well for himself so far and i was surprised when we sold him
