We're building a nice ex-Dortmund core at the club.

Doubly sweet after all their public shit talking around 2012ish when they gave interviews how Arsenal were beneath them and they wouldn't consider joining us until they'd decline with age

Who's "they"? I thought it was just Auba who said something to that effect and that was in 2014-15? Would be sweet if we could get Guerreiro / Weigl from there.

Surely we'd be selling both Mustafi and Chambers if (still a big if obviously) we're signing two new centebacks.

You reckon it's Chambers and not Holding?

Holding just signed a new context a couple of weeks ago.

Plus Chambers would fetch a lot more at this point. We were asking £25m for him when Palace were trying hard to sign him last summer. It obviously didn't come off but he's had a pretty solid season and a decent finish to it, I reckon someone in this League will pay that for him now.

Holding wouldn't command a fee even half that size at this point, but arguably has the bigger upside.

New contract before a loan deal is pretty run of the mill. Not to jump to any conclusions that's that's what'll happen but I wouldn't be shocked.

Koscielny is fucked, so signing 2 CB without selling Chambers make sense.

Don't mind Soyuncu. Worth the gamble. Not many knew of Skriniar this time last year and now's he the hottest prospect in the CB market.

Not sure about Papastathopoulos though. Should just just save the money and get Evans if we're going down that route. Was a Pep target too so there might be something there that Arteta could work with assuming the two have a similar ethos.

No way, if we can get him for €20mil, while we sell Mustafi, its the way to go.

How about Ousmane dembele on loan with an option to buy? I'd take that deal, even if we only have him for a season

Why would Barca do that deal. Dembele is one of the best young players in the world. Iniesta is leaving the club this weekend. Makes zero sense for them. Dembele is going to have a big season next year if he stays fit

Apparently their wage bill is astronomical and they want to sign Greizmann, a midfielder and a fullback - Dembele is the most expendable asset. Take it with a pinch of salt, as it comes from Balague, but he's actually pretty good when it comes to Barca.

That move actually makes sense for a super club

  • Suarez is expiring faster than anyone of us would’ve imagined, so they need a mature scoring and creative goalscoring threat, probably a bit soone than Dembele’s trajectory
  • They can sell Dembele in that instance and have Coutinho coming in from 10 with a flexible front 3 of Suarez, Messi, Griezmann. Very strong

In that instance, we should swoop. That’s an 80m pound move at least. For that, we definitely need to get rid of Ramsey (or Welbeck). But it needs funding.

If psg really want to pay £60m for ozil that would be the only realistic way to fund the deal. He'd never pick us over pool though.

We have Sven, Pierre and Henrikh. Maybe that’s enough of a draw card.

I doubt PSG want to pay £60m for Ozil!

juve and bayern have been frequent users of the loan with the option to buy.
