I'm struggling to wrap my head around the lack of news on a defender. Zouma seems to be in play. I'd take a punt on him

Weird to see Leicester wrapping up a deal for Soyuncu for 19m after we were linked with him so persistently earlier in the Summer.

I just cannot for the life of me see the rationale behind loaning Chambers out without bringing in a new defender. I'd take a punt at Zouma too at this point.

For what purpose? Holding and Mavropanos have age on their side too, as does Chambers. Only thing worse than loaning out Chambers and bringing no one in is loaning out Chambers and bringing in someone worse.

I think the difference is I rate him as a defender. He is a good defender, just too injury prone.

Think we need to be grateful that none of our big stars have left despite us scabbing it up again last year

My guess is that those rumours were just his agent making a meal out of Arsenal doing a routine check. I can't really work out what we'd need Soyuncu for this summer. We already have plenty of raw talent.

We needed a better center half than we got. Hopefully Sokratis proves otherwise. That aside, been a good window.
