What in your opinion would be the best team outside the top 4 and where could they realistially hope to finish?

---------------------Kasper--------------------
Cedric--Tarkowski----Maguire----Bertrand
------------Doucoure--Silva-----------------

Zaha-------------Vardy----------Richarlison

I have to be missing player because that XI looks shit.

Don't see that side finishing any higher than 7th.

Why should it? The top 6 are head and shoulders above the rest, there's no way you can make a team out of the bottom 14 that should finish higher than 7th.

Schmeichel

Coleman Evans Maguire Bertrand

Mahrez Gueye Ndidi Richarlison

Zaha

Vardy

This is the saddest thread I have ever seen. It makes me realise that the Premier League does not care. We're are just a 6 team old firm. And even within that, there is massive inequality. The Premier League is so much richer than any other league that it can afford to take leadership, especially now that the UK is exiting the EU and hopefully should not be bound by its labour laws going forward. It's not good.

We do not need a completely egalitarian system, but I hate the idea that Bournemouth is here just to make up the numbers every year.

And yet Leicester won Premier League two years ago.

Whatever happened to the idea of the EPL being the most competitive league especially its bottom half teams? Those teams would get absolutely murdered by their Spanish counterpart, their Italian or German rivals probably too.

Yet there are more upsets in the PL than in the other top leagues, right? Or is it just a myth. It looks that way to me in the last few years at least, as the big teams in Italy and Germany and Spain rarely lose or drop points. Surely someone has made some sort of statistical analysis.

6 team old firm is still better than a 2 or a 1 team League.

What’s the idea, there there should be 10+ teams who can win the league or break into the top four? Such a thing does not exist and I’m not sure people will want it too.

The number of upsets can also be down to the inconsistency of the big teams instead of the strong underdogs. I'm not even saying that EPL teams outside the top 6 are shit, a team is more than the sum of its parts and the best side in there probably wouldn't beat some team like Burnley most of the time. But for all the money these teams get the return in quality is seriously poor

Oh, Jones, the top teams are definitely not using their resources well. Nobody is a bigger culprit than Mourinho at United. What he is doing there is criminal. When they extended him I was filled with joy because my belief is that he is a short-termist manager who is building the team with a 2 year horizon, and he is unlikely to snap out of that mindset even with an extension.

What is it that you expect them to be doing better? they're second only to the creeps at city. While playing CL and FA cups.

Yes!

I've been saying this for years whenever it comes up in convo with mates.

Although having said that I still think the EPL is the best.

Why top 6?

Why not top 4 then the rest? Is it so that we can include Arsenal as top dogs?

I'm guessing because there's a clear gap between top 6 and the rest.

Top 4 and the rest and you're pretty much doing an Arsenal-Tottenham combined XI.

What would a top 6 combined 11 look like then?

Özil and ten other blokes.

Why bring City into it? They're not playing well despite spending a lot of cash. That City have spent more doesn't make it harder for United to play football.
