Well, I guess this deserves it's own thread

The only thing worse than going after Jonny Evans is going after Jonny Evans and failing to land him.

Trying to put a positive spin on it, given how we've defended in recent weeks, it would probably still be quite beneficial for us in the short term.

I don't agree with this.

Agree with this. Fuck Jonny Evans, don't think I'll keep watching us if this dickhead ever turns out for us

Fuck off with this shite.

I'll definitely keep watching us no matter who we sign, but no, I don't want this guy at all.

You don't think it's embarrassing to be turned down by a West Brom player?

For me the only thing worse than going for Evans is actually signing him considering what it would mean in terms of our recruitment strategy for defenders over the mext couple years. You just know Wenger operates. He almost always ends up avoiding further strengthening a position for a few years once he buys someone for that position, even if it turns out that the player just isn't working out after a year or two.

Being turned down by Evans however would mean we would have avoided signing yet another average player to be stuck with for the next 4 or 5 years. I'll take a little embarrassment if it means avoiding this signing. And really, by this point we are probably a little too used to being embarrassed supporting Arsenal that being rejected by Evans probably wouldn't even register with me.

They might as well revive Silvestre and stick them both in the back line for emphasis. Abomination after abomination.

Unbelievably horrible rumour.

Sanchez out, Johnny Evans in. This is hellworld.

Well when you put it like that :hmm:

This will at least solve one of my pet peeves, which is nacho being a first choice centre half. And it will marginally improve our defending which has been horrid lately

We still need to solve the issue of kos' longterm successor

Spot on, B Will.

Welbeckesque signing

Even Welbeck would hope for better for this club

City also "interested" in Evans makes me laugh. Probably just using that as leverage : " We will let you have him if you give us Sanchez" ?

Is this an actual joke?  This is Evans who plays for rock bottom team WBA?

But then again we've signed previous ManU rejects in Welbeck and Silvestre.

Most things tend to bounce off me these days as I've been beaten into submission by our shitness. But I will rediscover some rage if we sign this prick.

How the mighty have fallen.
