Do any Bundesliga viewers have an opinion on 21 year old Mainz centreback Abdou Diallo? We're being heavily linked with a January move and from what I have read he seems to be a big prospect. Came through Monaco's academy and is captain of the French U21s. Supposed to be another Sven Minslat player.
Same article also mentions Wolfsburg's 20 year old centreback/holding midfielder, Ohis Felix Uduokhai, as being another Sven has his eye on.
Get in, Sven!
Talk that we are “pushing hard” for Lucas Vasquez
I hope not.
Reports that we’re close to agreeing a deal for Jonny Evans
Good signing

This Jonny Evans deal has been following us around like Trabelsi rumour. Is this the upgrade that we need? We are retiring Mertesacker, and need to relegate Koscielny, while young master Chambers is probably on his 7th or 8th life at this point.
Good short term signing for once.
He's not a terrible footballer or anything, but if true it's yet another example of Arsenal signing players like we were Everton rather than a club with the ambition to challenge for serious trophies.
Liverpool sign van Dijk and we end up with Evans, having already wasted 18 months on Mustafi. How thoroughly uninspiring.
Yup. What I would like to see are some signings who relegate some of the first team players who have left us languishing in 6th place in the league to the 2nd team..
In my opinion this signing may just imply that we still believe in the talent of Chambers/ Holding/ Bielik and may be the Greek defender we have signed. In an ideal world we would just sign a center half approaching his peak but I really think this is still a good signing.
Pep is interested which a bit of an endorsement in itself

I thought you really rated Evans Klaus? Remember you raving about him at United.
I’ve never seen the big deal with Evans personally, but with both us and City after him he must have something about him. Signing a 29yr old seems a bit pointless to me though.
Would be a very underwhelming signing but he can't be worse than Chambers, Holding, Mertesacker, Mustafi and a one legged Kosicleny have been this season.
The fact that he turned 30 a few days back makes it expensive too.

He had one season years back when he was looking good but it was a long time ago. Most players look good at some point. He's 30 now and West Bromwich is pretty much his level.
Absolutely ridiculous to sign a CB of his age. Just do it properly ffs, go buy someone who's 25-27 like Manolas/Koulibaly
Wenger's an old stubborn idiot though.
Talk of Welbeck going to WBA on loan
Pellegrino confirmed his interest in Walcott after today’s match
Plenty of opportunity to make room for new blood
Would love both transfers to happen, but cannot see a chance of the Welbeck one and think if Sanchez goes I don't see Wenger letting Walcott go either.
Would be great if we cleared that second team, and started relegating a few stiffs from this first team to the bench. Welbeck, Walcott, Coquelin, Elneny, Debuchy, Chambers either offer nothing or have absolutely no future. Just shake.
Sell Sanchez, sign Ozil, sell Theo, sign Lemar or Fekir or a potato, sign Evans or a bag of shit...
Our team is average right now. We've been linked to average players. We'll scrape for 4th again, if anything. Groundhog day all over again.
