Agree with this. Mustafi is way too thick to ever be a top defender consistently. He misread so many situations and try to use his physicality to bail him out.

The thing is, Koscielny is torrid this season too, with 2 other young CBs as back up the situation is really not ideal.

Manolas would be the perfect signing but I think it's out of the question. Roma want all cash up front. We're not going to make a deal like that. If we were we'd probably have heard something concrete by now. The window closes in 8 hours.

I was thinking if we get Luiz we can play him in the Elneny position now. He has been superb the few times he play for Chelsea as a DM. His technical ability is top class

we're apparently trying to sort out our summer transfers in January as well..

honestly.. we've cleared out Theo, Coq and a broody Sanchez (no matter how good he was) and brought in Mhki, Aub and the other Greek kid.. and we may lose Olly (though, i dont particularly want to). if we went after Manolas in this window too, all that would be left to do in the summer is a CM and possible a GK

Ornstein said he's hearing whispers (nothing concrete) that we're trying to sign Luiz or Manolas. He also just said that Luiz is staying, so fortunately it's Manolas if it's one of them.
