That's neither here nor there; the conversation at the time was in regard to having a no.10 (or am or whatever you want to call it). Wilshere will not be a better better 10 than Ozil at any point in his career and I conceded a long time ago that he can be world class in his current position. But anyway...
No, scholes and xavi aren't limited. They have limitations like any other player who has ever stepped onto a pitch but they are not limited; they are utterly class football players.

He's twice as quick as Scholes ever was, and he's going to get quicker. He's also stronger than Scholes ever was, and is going to get stronger.
I'm not saying Wilshere will be as good, maybe he will, although I doubt it, and he will be different with his own style, but he will be so much more than Scholes and Xavi who are great players in their own right, but limited. Jack's abilities are almost limitless.
And to be honest, I don't even know where the Messi comparison came from.
What you have said there is delusion on a whole different scale to anything that you have ever said before.
The genuine culmination of anything that you have said about Wilshere in the last month is that you believe he is going the greatest footballer to ever live. And I genuinely think that you believe that, I just think it is unrealistic.
No, I genuinely don't believe that he will be the greatest footballer to ever live - as if that even really needs to be refuted. But I do believe he will be one of the very best footballers in the world, hands down. I think he will be a better player than Scholes, comfortably (I don't rate Scholes quite as highly as some others do), and in the same bracket as Xavi, only with more to his game - more goals, more thrilling moments, more genius, more flair, a different kind of player.
Categorically I'm not saying Jack will be as good as Messi. I'm not sure why I said that above, I was in full flow, I don't believe it, not for a second, Messi is as good as it gets, what more can I say?
Like I said, Capi. It's all good to write off what someone says as hyperbole, and I'll admit I can be very guilty of it sometimes, I get carried away without doubt, rose-tinting at its best (or worst), but it works the other way too. You laughed me off in the summer when I compared Wilshere's talent to Ozil's, as if I was crazy, delusional - it turns out you just hadn't seen it yet. I remember having a discussion with Kami in the summer (sorry to single you out mate), where he said if Wilshere and Szczesny were part of the starting line-up this year that we wouldn't be winning anything. I said to him you don't know how good these guys are, they're about as good as talent comes, too good to fail, despite their age, they were ready. I basically got slaughtered for it.
I'm not asking for a medal - although it does sound like I am! 😆 all I'm saying is there's always someone ready to shoot you down when you offer an opinion, especially if it's not one shared by the majority at the time, but sometimes what seems crazy or delusional one moment can make a lot of sense.
Were you crazy or delusional when you said last summer that Wilshere didn't have the talent to be a top tier player, for example?
