Everything in touched turns to gold. Said it many times and I know many thinks Zidane is a poor coach, but for me he is one of the best out there. He is so flexible to switch his teams in many different formations and counter the opponents with simple tweaks. To win 3 in a row in modern football is insane considering how strong the other teams are. He is always so calm and never looked fazed even when his team is on the back foot in many matches, just switch a little and watch on.
I think Zidane hasn't fully worked out how to plan for a league season and manage his resources over 12 months.
But in a cup final like this, he's played so many that he knows exactly what's needed.
Disagree, given that in his first season he finished 1 point behind Barcelona and then he won the league in the 2nd season, breaking a number of La Liga records in the process. One of the main reason he won the league was how he manage to rotate effectively 2 different XI and formation for Europe and La Liga.
I think the main reason it's only going to get tougher for him now is the difficulty in motivating your players constantly given how much they have won over 3 years. Pep faced the same problem as well.
