Honestly I've known people to do 3h of commuting every day so it's not much round these parts. Drove 700km last weekend bringing my partner back from the goldfields, and that's a relatively standard sort of distance in Western Australia. You can't fly to a major city from Perth without it taking 3-4h plus.

On the bright side when you go to Europe or Japan it's bizarre and refreshing to find out everything's a one or two hour train ride, or at most a short flight away.

It's taken Ox 6yrs to get to Liverpool after leaving Southampton.
