Jones, while the teams are strong, I think that the leap to Real and Barca is monmumantal now. Barca and Real have Manchester City money. Everyone else has Spurs or much worse money.
Do you remember the good old days only 15 years ago when you would watch the league knowing that any given year although Real and Barca were most likely to win, you would get a very good challenge from Valencia, Sevilla, Deportivo, Sociedad, etc. That’s gone now. The league is very layered now with these big teams guaranteed of being in the top 3, and really only Don Simeone pushing them in recent years. The financial gap is too wide. So while teams may be technically excellent versus Premier League, they’re no match in general for the big teams
if not for messi/ronaldo -once in a lifetime freaks- despite all those riches, laliga would be more competitive than those days with the current teams. yes, i believe those two singularly skew everything so much. Their numbers prove it too i think.
