What I read on Sky Sports:

Sky Sports News understands Khan's purchase of Wembley would see the England national team being forced to play games away from the stadium, notably in the autumn.

The NFL regular season begins on September 7, with pre-season matches beginning at the start of August. However, it is understood the FA would still consider Wembley as the 'home' of the national team.

Due diligence is believed to now be underway on a deal that would see the creation of the first ever NFL franchise outside of the USA.

The national team could be forced to play games away from the stadium during autumn, but the rest of the year is fine, I guess. And having a NFL team there? Wouldn't that be terrible for the fans? 😆

I looked it up - the cost was around £800m back in the day so it's easily worth over £1b.

My understanding is that Wembley doesn't get used that often, but it still seems like adding a NFL team would dilute what makes it special. Not that many games in the fall for international footy but there'd still be some overlap.

What of the pitch?

Lame decision by the FA/UK to sell it.

It seems Khan (the owner of the Jaguars) is making this move to buy Wembley because he thinks it will add financial value to his NFL team if it has two homes: Jacksonville and London.

I don't think he'd move the team permanently to London; there's just too many issues with that.
