My heart bleeds for Chicago. This is just insane. It’s practically a war out there, but no one is paying attention.
Oh and what makes it worse? Chicago isn’t even top 10 for violent crime rates and murder rates per capita in the USA
This is probably an ignorant question but how come Chicago can't adopt the same methods the NYPD did in the 90s? The fall in crime rates in New York over the past 20 years have been very impressive.

anyway my biggest beef with the chi (and even saying chicago is too general because it's only a smaller area of a small area in chicago) violence is that these clowns are just shooting into crowds hoping to hit their opp. i have no problem with enemy combatants killing each other because they're doing society a favor, but innocents catching strays is just not right.

She’ll need to explain how she walked to the wrong house, managed to open the door, failed to notice the odd decor, and then decided to kill the occupant rather than disable him.
... this was a "supposedly" trained user unlike your average teacher, pastor, nurse or zimmerman.
Several witnesses have apparently come forward to dispute her version of the events in which she said the door was ajar when she arrived. They say she knocked on the door many times and yelled "let me in" repeatedly

I guess they don't want to risk trying for murder when they're not able to prove that she went in premeditated. Not that it matters anyway she'll walk regardless of charges
Don't think she will walk tbh. She's a nobody who's easy to put away and ease tensions. The guy she shot is also more prominent than other recent victims of police shootings, coming from a successful family and he himself being a relative success working at PwC.
She's not a nobody she's a cop. There were dozens of cases like this in the last few years backed even with video evidence and the cop still somehow walked.

Such a sad, sad country. This is unfortunately what happens when you have ridiculous laws which allow every damn idiot to carry a gun. In a normal country where people aren’t carrying guns this would have, at worst, resulted in some punches thrown. Doubt that even, because those two murderers would most likely never have even dared to open their mouths to that much bigger now dead guy had they not been able to hide behind their guns.

Although the actions of the police in America is maddening, what I find most frustrating about every story I read or hear about them is the lack of accountability, the fact that almost every case ends in a whitewash because the system is rigged to protect them institutionally from top to bottom.
