Yeah. He and his agents have been mature. For such a top player, he has not been very agitated. United and Chelsea recently bought inferior strikers. Is he maybe eyeing a longer term play like replacing Ronaldo / Messi (that’s what the English commentators say he’s worth), or is he relatively settled in north London and willing to let Spurs build around him?

I also wonder if the relative appeal of ditching Spurs is as great now as it was when guys like Bale and Modric left. For certain personalities, it might be enough. You can go into Champions League at least occasionally, you have a big stadium now.

Alli- on the other hand - is rumored to be signing up with Raiola. You link up with him when you want big moves because that is his model for making money. That’s a good signal that someone is exploring moves.

I'm sure part of why Kane has stayed is because they were a club in the ascension and making CL consistently. That looks unlikely this year and other clubs are passing them out again. Liverpool are in the position Spurs were 2 years ago but they are a bigger club and have more resources so their ceiling his higher. We are at a low yet on par with Spurs still, at any time our owners could push back above them if they choose to. United are already back as a CL force and have the resources to stay there and eventually compete with City.

Spurs moment is gone. If Kane doesn't recognise that his advisors will. Walkers gone, Rose tried to leave, Alli looks to be setting up to move. Pochetino wont stay forever either. If Kane is a Spurs player in 18 months time I'd be pretty surprised.

Deli Alli is not a galactico. He will not carry a team. Kane is a proven goalscorer. He can export that ability to any country. Real Madrid would dump Benzema and co. very quickly if Kane announced his availability.

There is no way United dropped £90m on Lukaku and Chelsea £70m on Morata without talking to Kanes agent first. And given those sums and the ages of the players I'd guess there was no talk of "next summer" from the Kane camp.

A £300m investment is huge for anyone and good as he is, he's nowhere near as marketable as someone like Neymar.

It may still happen but it certainly won't be easy and he probably won't get to choose where he goes.
