I think he's incredibly underrated too. He has scored a goal every two starts for three years in a row. This season he has something like 10 goals in 16 starts for Pool. The fact that he cost less than Chamberlain is just ridiculous.

Re: Salah, I don't think he is in the mould of players that Wenger looks for. Like Klopp stocks these speedy counter-attackers with no real creativity (bar Lallana), Wenger stocks slow attackers who can play intricate combinations - even Lacazette, for all his finishing chops, is not really a counter-attacking player. Ozil was perhaps the last player we signed in that category and we are badly misusing him with this style of football. I don't think Alexis was that either when we got him - Barcelona took that out of him.

I agree and I have been saying as much, although Walcott really takes this argument out of the equation a little. The simpler explanation is probably that Wenger don't see quality fast enough.

Worth mentioning that Walcott was viewed for a long time as a striker. I agree though, it's bizarre how Wenger moved away from fast moving attackers to this bunch.
