That was shambolic all around. Poor decision but Walker could have kept his nose down as well.
Edit: Actually, on second viewing - there's nothing wrong with what Walker did. That's a level of rough play that I'm comfortable with and would be sorry to see go.
Terrible officiating. Neither yellow justified

Terrible call from the ref tbf.
It took me a few replays to see that he hadn't elbowed him. It's a wrong decision but Calvert-Lewins dive has fooled the ref and I've some sympathy.
Walker 😆
Referee's have far too much of an influence on games with some really awful decisions.

The first one really was.
Probably the fastest double yellow which involved both yellows being utterly ridiculous.
@ qs: have you seen a replay? There was zero contact, and the studs weren't dangerously high or anything.
Instead of blaming the ref, I'm blaming Calvert-Lewins - unless you see it from a better angle ita easy to assume Walker just elbows him and CL goes to ground holding his face
Yes, but a ref is not supposed to assume, this isn't Sunday league
Should have VAR
Also, what do refs do during half time apart from compare notes?
They should also get to review decisions using VAR and uphold / rescind them as appropriate. It's workable.

I never said he was assuming. It's perfectly reasonable to come to that conclusion and be deceived.
Besides, the reality is referees have to exercise a huge amount of judgement based on what they think they see and when a player dives all over the place it makes it much harder. There's no point pretending it only happens in Sunday league football when you see it happening at the top level every weekend. Overall agree- they should have VAR.

Will the new diving review thing come into play?Â
I'm fine with VAR but would limit to plays that have resulted in a card (yellow or red), offside, or a goal.
Would hate for it to be implemented for throw ins, corners, goal kicks, and run of the mill fouls.
Offensive changes from Koeman. I'm impressed.
Be nice to City see lose this. Wonder what odds Everton for Top 4.
They had VAR for the confederations cup during the summer and there were still shit decisions made. It's not a sliver bullet for ref mistakes.

I remember when Kaka playfully grabbed his friend who was on the other team and he got sent off! 😆

Sterling so wasteful.
City are as wasteful as us in front of goal.
