Matic certainly plays further up the pitch, and has scored some worldlies, but I wouldn't say he's more attacking in any meaningful manner/contribution.
However, he's just a season or two off from being one of Chelsea's best players and on his day he's as good of a CM as there is. Insane to let him go to Man United who have been desperate for such a player for years (see Schneiderlin attempt).
Chelsea will struggle badly this year I think and drop out of top 4. Too much of their success last year was based on a lack of injuries and the system working, they're short quality and depth at a number of positions.
