  • Other clubs transfer thread Summer 2017 ( Barcelona sign Dembele)

Few players have ever symbolised a club as well as Fellaini has symbolised Manchester United in these last four years. They played some of the worst, most soulcrushing football I've seen in my entire life, and that clown always seemed to be at the heart of it.

On the subject of Matic, I think it's a class signing. Chelsea gain a bit of grafting with Bakayoko but lose some excellence in return. I'm not convinced this was a good deal for them. I'd have understood it if they got Nainggolan to replace Matic, but this is tantamount to gutting the peak level of the team.

Chelsea are having a real shit show of a transfer window. It's a good signing for United. Despite the Lukaku fee being a joke I feel like they've spent a lot better than City.

More annoyingly, United seems to be in for Aurier.

Yeah really don't want them getting Aurier. He's top notch.

A defensive shield of De Gea-Aurier-Lindelof-Bailly-Blind-Matic is not going to concede a lot of goals at all, especially so operating in a Mourinho team. With that the attacking players of Herrera-Pogba-Mkhitaryan-Martial-Lukaku aren't going need to all that many goals between them to win United a lot of games. They will finish ahead of us this coming season unless Wenger pulls something out the bag in the last month of the window. It's a real shame as well considering they haven't even had a good window but look so much more solid than us.

Definitely, Bakayoko for Matic and Morata for Costa are arguably clear downgrades.

That team is so mediocre. I think they'll struggle this year. Mourinho may not see out the season.

Aurier would be a class signing for them, the guy is a bit looney but on form a devastating RB.

Herrera and Matic isn't a very exciting or intimidating midfield. United will still be massively relying on Pogba to come good.

Mourinho doesn't do exciting midfields though. Those three have the qualities Mourinho wants in his team - personally wouldn't want to see this happen

When you add the fact they've got Pogba there as well it does have the ingredients to be a very functional midfield. Mourinho doesn't do flair, he does strong functional teams who know how to win games. His form has suffered a lot due to have shite players around him who can't pass, thus forcing him to drop deeper. This will give him a lot more freedom to play.

Saying that a lot of questions still remain about Man Utd, even though they got into the CL their PL form can't be ignored either. Despite how we had an absolute horror 3/4 months they still finished below us!

Also Ibra out will be quite damaging for their attack - he carried them for the first half of the season at least - his 17 goals and overall impact will be tough to replace. Having said that, their defense looks really solid now. Tough season ahead for us, I guess.

Aurier is thick as a brick. Why would any respectable club touch him after the shit he's pulled off the pitch?

I doubt he's even an upgrade on Valencia.

I agree. Their performances will hinge on the form of De Gea, Pogba and Lukaku. Herrera and Bailly are decent players but not top class (yet).

Mkhitaryan is a good player too but terrible in Mourinho's system. He needs to combine with players to be effective. At United he's too isolated and easily crowded out. Martial is a great talent but terribly inconsistent and doesn't have enough end product. Their wingers and defenders are their weak points. Lets see how Lindelöf performs. If he doesn't manage to oust Smalling from their starting eleven they are in trouble.

Aurier and Matic are two big signings.

Oh yeah, i've always thought that this is why we have steered clear of this one.

Aurier is banned from the UK for assaulting a police officer ffs.

That's utterly disgusting. Does this mean PSG have completely circumvented FFP (whatever is left of it)?

Neymar is now worth more than most Premier league clubs.
