VPN for acestream

My building has completely fucking crippled my internet connection (without warning), blocking a load of sites and blocking P2P/torrent traffic. I'll be cancelling and changing provider at the end of May but I need a workaround for football until the end of the season.

I'm using windscribe's VPN for browsing the restricted sites and torrenting, so that's fine, but it's too slow for streaming acestream.

Does anyone know of a free VPN that's fast enough for streaming? I don't care if they're dodgy or if they sell my data or anything, it's literally just for streaming Arsenal matches. If there are no free options I'd be willing to pay 5€ p/m so long as I can cancel at any time.

Ironically you're probably one of the first people I'd think of to ask if I had this issue 😆

I used to use this one - https://airvpn.org/ - I think you had to pay for the privilege but I never had any issues streaming. Not used it in a long time though so can't vouch for it now.

I know, right? 😆 I was pretty pleased with myself when I got around the blocking within 5 minutes of noticing it but connection speed for streaming remains an issue though.

Thanks for the link, they have 3 days for a euro so I'll buy that and test it out for our next match!

Just watched the whole spurs match using Windscribe's free VPN, simple fix in the end. I just had to increase the delay in acestream, by default it's only 10 seconds (so pretty close to live) but I increased it to 120 seconds and the entire match was flawless.

Probably a good tip for those of you who are getting choppy streams with acestream even if you aren't using a VPN.

How does Acestream perform versus embedded/flash video for older computers?

Won't let me new computer touch streaming sites so I'm using an old Mac and struggling to keep up.

Acestream is generally far better quality than flash streams, they also never get taken down which is great.

It's an absolute pain to install on a mac though. There are workarounds and it's supposed to work with wine but in my experience it's buggy as fuck or just doesn't work. Back when I had a mac I used to run acestream in a windows VM and that was fine.

If you're worried about security issues you can run acestream in a VM on your new computer. It's completely sandboxed so there's basically no threat or risk of anything bad happening.
