VERY late on this but I disagree.

It lacks the 'song' factor by missing out Pharrell's verse and chorus for the most part. The hook and the chorus and what it says is half the joy.

Still a catchy version but the original is tighter.

Hmm, well, it's only a track. I much prefer that version. The cut up opening guitar just kills me.

Bit late to the party but I finally started getting into OB4CL Part II, thanks to it becoming my gym music (the original's one of my most played I'd say).

Hate that type of hip hop.

Wu Tang were great, original and ground breaking. Along with the RZA produced 90s albums that they did as solo artists. But this is just a dull.

For me it's beat then lyrics so in that sense i'm not a true hip hop fan.

I like Little Brother/Phonte. Dope beats dope rhymes.

Not trying to knock everything you listen to by the way. You have an eclectic taste like most guys in here I'd hope.

It's just good to discuss music in here when I understand what i'm listening to.

I actually agree with that Tone. I'm a big fan of 36 Chambers and OB4CL but I don't think the later work continues to hold up or be as good or relevant.

A white guy in his 30s who likes the Wu Tang is a bit of a cliché these days. You have to give them credit for their influence, though, I doubt trip-hop would've happened the same way without the RZA existing, for example.

Get a bit nostalgic though so I'm enjoying some of the tracks from Part II. The one I posted is probably the most accessible and the most dull what with Dre producing, it's basically Wu bubblegum.

You should post up some stuff you like for our edification ...

36 chambers was ground breaking but Forever was their crowning achievement. It's a much better album.

Of the solo stuff, Liquid swords was absolute class.

Liquid Swords was the best Wu-album imo.

36 Chambers, OB4CL and Liquid Swords are all better than Wu-Tang Forever I reckon. Not sure I think the order of the albums is super important though …
