Yeah Grohl played drums for QotSA for a while. So I suppose they are post-grunge power-pop birds of a feather.

It's not really shaving the skin off my nose I just thought it was a tad harsh ...

Shite, need to check this thread more often as I've been starved of (my definition of) new music lately. Listening to Panda Bear's new album...coming along nicely...unsurprisingly it's a bit trippy but I tend to like that.

Good calls from James and Asa...keep meaning to give Helplessness Blues a a listen (and Horrors have really reinvented themselves, fortunately).

By the way, can't put my finger on who that Horrors track reminds me of but there's something distinctly 90s (perhaps early 00s) about it.
