Don't quite agree with this, I'm not sure it was clear he'd been hacked in the back of the foot without ball contact when it happened. However, VAR should have picked it up.
I know the law itself is clear, but I'm not in favour of handball penalties being given for situations where the ball's travel or the intent prior is a bit ambiguous, or there's not a clear scoring opportunity that would develop. I hate it when those calls go against us. Just how I feel about it.
Overall, I'm way more worried by the way refs are waving on other sides' over the top physicality, or time-wasting tactics against us. What we saw from Bournemouth yesterday is becoming the default. Yellow cards need to be out in the first half hour, these are football matches, governed by the laws of the game not the Geneva Convention.
