I hope we see a team like this again vs Basel but we need to allow our first teamers a rest while the meaningful CL games are gone. In a couple of weeks we'll start the busy Xmas schedule and wont get a chance to rest them. This is the right call by Wenger.

West Ham are playing a very strong team tonight too. And Besides, I'm not calling for us to start all our best players. For me Ospina, Xhaka, Theo, Mustafi, etc could have all started this match and still have a relatively fresh team out against West Ham. The only player i'd have completely rested is Alexis.

Also you know, if we'll proceed to rest our best players against Basel , then at least I'd understand it a bit, but I'm pretty sure the likes of Alexis and Ozil will be boarding that plane to Basel. We should be prioritising this match, not the one against Basel IMO

Xhaka could have played but then it's not like there's a youth team player out there in his place. Mustafi is as important to rest as the other obvious candidates and has been ever present. Theo has a history of being fragile in recent seasons, he needs to be protected too. The only concern for me is the lack of firepower on the bench.

He looks very ponderous. It's very difficult for a player with a center of gravity as high as his, and his lanky build, to have no burst and still be a successful player.
