Maybe Walcott will start up front and get a rest on the weekend instead.
He scored a goal in the last game. Surely that has buyed him time in the starting XI for the important matches.
The question is who plays if not him. Giroud has a knock so he's ruled out. So do you run Alexis into the ground in November, or do you use Lucas and risk throwing the game away while you're essentially sending him out there to pick up another injury? There's no way he can start a game after being out since October 25th when he was barely physically fit enough to start before that.
Someone floated the idea of using Iwobi, but that's essentially the same thing as throwing the game away. And if we're gonna do that then we shouldn't play any first teamers at all. Let them rest for the much more important game against West Ham this weekend.
