His current image as a controversial, outspoken media commentator is an improvement on his previous reputation. Nasty piece of work.

There's no one in this country that has a positive opinion of the man. Honestly, I'd take Arsenal being relegated if it meant Piers Morgan stopped following the club.

So I presume you count the phone hacking, using the tabloid press to fuel personal vendettas, publishing fake photos of troops abusing Iraqi citizens, publishing fake stories about Arsenal fans in Copenhagen and effectively providing a platform to what is now 'fake news' but has been tabloid culture for decades in the UK to be 'not that bad'. I would say there are many Arsenal fans and people associated with the club who have been just as morally corrupt even if what they did is not as exposed.

The diamond industry is just as dodgy and yet Fiszman and Dein have both made masses of money through that Avenue. Usmanov can't have been squeaky clean either.

It's just because Piers is a baffoon and a celebrity that he gets mad attention.

What kind of logic is that? Basically everyone short of Charles Manson should get a free pass then. Usmanov is wildly derided around here anyway and, if you look back into posting history, there are several who object to the way Kroenke behaves and his connections to the Walmart empire too - but they aren't the subject of discussion here. I didn't realise I needed to specifically condemn them before getting stuck into Piers Morgan. This is how Godwin's Law became a thing.

But fundamentally, that still doesn't change what Piers Morgan's done either if his best defence is - "oh look at those guys first!" and it's far more serious that casual buffoonery to get attention - all the instances that you've neatly side stepped. Even a contrarian needs to have some limits, Tony.

I just don’t even understand the calculation in his skull. If Trump has less than a 30% approval rating globally, then it’s probably fair that the vast majority of Arsenal fans do not approve of him. So why would you piss off the fan base like this by mixing the club’s name with this despicable human? You could say he’s controversial. I say he’s stupid.
